Round 4: Impossible Trivia Thursday
Posted by: Patrick Schmiedt on June 19, 2008 at 7:03PM EST

The fourth installment of Impossible Trivia Thursday brings with it a reminder of the rules: No researching to find the answer (if you look it up, don't give away the answer). Guesses are welcomed and encouraged. Post your answers as a comment to this post, and I'll do my best to let you know ASAP if you're right or wrong.

Now, on to the trivia....

The Gillette girls basketball team is an annual contender for the state championship. That's no secret -- it's a pattern that's gone on for years.

This week's trivia question: What was the last school to beat the Gillette girls in the first round of the Wyoming State High School Basketball Championships?

Bonus: In what year was this game, and what was the final score?

Remember to post your answer as a comment below. Go!

I'm taking a stab.... Riverton was dominant in the the 80's about the time Gillette basketball factory was just coming on line... so Riverton in the late 80's

Not Evanston.

Kelly Walsh

Not Kelly Walsh.

And with that, I'm going to say time's up.

The winning answer: Rock Springs. The Tigers beat Gillette 63-53 in the first round of the Class 4A tournament way back in 1992. The Camels have made at least the state semis for 16 straight years since then.

Rock Springs went on to win the state title in 1992 and Gillette went on to win the consolation championship.
