Football playoff possibilities all spelled out, plus a bonus discussion item
Posted by: Patrick Schmiedt on October 19, 2008 at 12:05AM EST

After taking some time to dissect the Week 8 matchups and my projected WHSAA power ratings, I've come up with my annual handy-dandy guide to Week 8 football/playoffs/possible postseason matchups guide. Check it out.

Class 5A
In
: Gillette, Natrona County, Sheridan, Cheyenne East, Green River, Cheyenne Central, Evanston, Rock Springs.
Out: Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Riverton.
(My projections show that if everything goes right for Kelly Walsh and/or Laramie, and everything goes wrong for Rock Springs, Cheyenne Central or Evanston, KW and/or Laramie still wouldn't be able to catch any of those three. Hence, the eight teams are set; only the order is in question.)

Class 4A
In
: Buffalo, Douglas, Cody, Powell, Worland.
Win and in: Lander.
Win and need help: Jackson, Torrington, Rawlins, Wheatland, Star Valley.
Out: No one.
(Class 4A is the most confusing of the bunch. No team has truly been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, and Jackson, Torrington and Rawlins -- the seven, eight and nine spot-holders in the power rankings -- are only separated by 0.07 power points. Because of how tight the power ratings are, a win alone won't be enough for any of those three teams. They have to win, then hope the right games fall the right ways for them to make the playoffs.)

Class 3A
In
: Glenrock, Lovell, Moorcroft, Wright, Kemmerer, Pinedale.
Win and in: Mountain View, Thermopolis.
Need a win and some help: Newcastle, Big Piney, Lyman.
Out: No one.
(Lyman is the longest of long shots but is still mathematically alive. But Mountain View and Thermopolis control their own destinies for the No. 7 and No. 8 spots, and as long as they win, their postseason berths are assured.)

Class 2A
In
: Burns, Lingle, Lusk, Big Horn, Wind River.
Win and in: Greybull, Riverside, Rocky Mountain.
Need a win and some help: Sundance.
Out: Saratoga, Pine Bluffs, Tongue River.
(Even if Saratoga and Pine Bluffs finish their seasons with two victories, they can't catch up enough to make the playoffs. Sundance could be the spoiler here, as with the right mix they could jump as high as sixth.)

Class 1A
In
: Hulett, Southeast, Burlington, Cokeville, Shoshoni, Guernsey.
Win and in: Normative Services, Upton, Hanna.
Need a win and some help: Dubois.
Out: No one.
(The obvious big Week 8 game here in terms of qualifying is NSI at Upton. The winner moves on, but the loser isn't automatically out of playoff contention, depending on what happens to Hanna and Dubois.)

There's how Week 8 sets up. Soak it in, and then when the crazy stuff happens on Friday night -- just like it always does -- come back here and I'll fill you in on exactly how it "should" break down for the playoffs.

Remember, these are possibilities based on PROJECTED power rankings. Those officially don't come out from the WHSAA office until next week. But usually our projections are pretty close.

Now, for argument's sake....

Here is how the projected playoff pairings shake out, through Week 7 using current standings (keeping in mind, of course, that power ratings ARE being used this season to determine half of the playoff qualifiers):

Class 5A
(8) Evanston at (1, 1N) Sheridan
(5) Natrona County at (4, 2S) Green River
(6) Rock Springs at (3, 2N) Gillette
(7) Cheyenne Central at (2, 1S) Cheyenne East
Class 4A
(8) Jackson at (1, 1E) Douglas
(5) Worland at (4, 2W) Powell
(6) Lander at (3, 2E) Buffalo
(7) Torrington at (2, 1W) Cody
Class 3A
(8) Thermopolis at (1, 1E) Glenrock
(5) Lovell at (4, 2W) Pinedale
(6) Wright at (3, 2E) Moorcroft
(7) Mountain View at (2, 1W) Kemmerer
Class 2A
(8) Rocky Mountain at (1, 1E) Burns
(5) Lingle at (4, 2W) Wind River
(6) Greybull at (3, 2E) Lusk
(7) Riverside at (2, 1W) Big Horn
Class 1A
(8) Upton at (1, 1W) Burlington
(5) Shoshoni at (4, 2E) Hulett
(6) Guernsey at (3, 2W) Cokeville
(7) Normative Services at (2, 1E) Southeast

In 2009, though, power ratings are disappearing, and the top four teams from each conference will take the playoff seeds based on conference record. IF that system were in place now, here's what the projected playoffs would look like, based on current standings:

Class 5A 2009 version
(4S) Rock Springs at (1N) Sheridan
(3N) Natrona County at (2S) Green River
(3S) Cheyenne Central at (2N) Gillette
(4N) Kelly Walsh at (1S) Cheyenne East
Class 4A 2009 version
(4W) Worland at (1E) Douglas
(3E) Torrington at (2W) Powell
(3W) Lander at (2E) Buffalo
(4E) Wheatland at (1W) Cody
Class 3A 2009 version
(4W) Big Piney at (1E) Glenrock
(3E) Lovell at (2W) Pinedale
(3W) Mountain View at (2E) Moorcroft
(4E) Wright at (1W) Kemmerer
Class 2A 2009 version
(4W) Greybull at (1E) Burns
(3E) Lingle at (2W) Wind River
(3W) Riverside at (2E) Lusk
(4E) Pine Bluffs at (1W) Big Horn
Class 1A 2009 version
(4E) Upton/Normative Services at (1W) Burlington
(3W) Shoshoni at (2E) Hulett
(3E) Guernsey at (2W) Cokeville
(4W) Hanna at (1E) Southeast

Which system looks better to you?

(Also, it's worth noting that in 5A, 4A, 3A and 1A this year, the conferences are unbalanced. That won't be the case when the conferences are restructured next year.)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend -- and don't forget state cross country and regional volleyball are set for next weekend, as well. I may be making some of my patented fearless predictions if I remember to do so.... :)

time to make predictions eh, alrighty then, Sheridan and Gillette will meet in 5a and the broncs will squeak by, Cody and Douglas in 4a, Cody by a field goal,Kemmerrer and Lovell will play the big game but Lovell will suffer the loss,Gonna pick Wind River in 2a, they can upset Burns and Big Horn both with their passing game, and last but not least, Burlington will defeat Cokeville in another defensive battle, and it will all come down to the kicking game.
Well, thats mine, anyone care to disagree?

Posted by: Fun time! on October 19, 2008 12:14PM EST
5A- Natrona vs Gillette, Mustangs get revenge the whole way through the playoffs.

4A- Buffalo vs Douglas, revenge is sweet again for the Bison.

3A- Kemmerer vs Glenrock, Can't Stop the 'Rock. Herd wins big with title game at home.

2A- Big Horn vs Burns, Burns takes home the 'ship in a great game, possibly the best of them all.

1A- Burlington vs Cokeville, all-West final goes to Cokeville in another classic.

5A will be the most intriguing by far. Most other classes are fairly top heavy, while the largest class has many teams that can win it. Don't be shocked to see many upsets throughout the 5A run.

Good Luck!

Patrick, you mentioned cross county so I have a question for you. Glenrock's Brooke Hughes was recognized at the Absaroka conference championship for winning her conference all four years. Do you know of any other cross country runner to do that?

Posted by: playoffs! on October 19, 2008 1:54PM EST
Didn't Big Horn already beat Wind River? Not that Wind River couldn't turn the tables on Big Horn but the Rams have already proven they can beat Wind River.

Posted by: bearcat mom on October 19, 2008 5:20PM EST
Douglas can do it this year with the group of seniors that they have. They played a great game on Friday.

Posted by: high school football! on October 19, 2008 6:20PM EST
1a- Guernsey Vs Southeast! Guernsey takes it in a very close one and gets revenge from last year!! Guernsey goes 5 straight trips to the ship!!!

Posted by: Powderpro on October 19, 2008 9:09PM EST
Big Horn defeated Wind River @ WR. The Rams have proven themselves against some pass happy teams in the west and their defensive stats against the rush are among the best in the state. Go Rams

Posted by: 2A on October 20, 2008 12:07AM EST
yeah its true that big horn has proven themselves against wind river but didn't big horn prove themselves against riverside last year then come back and lose to them i'm thinking wind river will win in a close game against big horn in the championships

Patrick - I have to say the 2009 version looks best. The current system of using a Power Rating makes no sense, sinse the teams have no control over who is on their schedule. That was the whole idea of the power ratings in SD when they were instituted back in the very early 80's. Reward teams for scheduling larger schools, and also reward them based on their opponents record. In Wyoming I believe the Power Rating is only based on opponents strength of schedule, but I could be wrong. Either way, it doesn't make sense here since the WHSAA does all scheduling and school have no "power" in this.

To all you herder fans, from want I have seen and talking to some coaches...kemmerer will route the ROCK if they play for a championship...again

Posted by: Mark Metzger on October 20, 2008 10:25AM EST
2A. Your are right, history can't be changed. I was very impressed with Wind River. I wonder how the East will do against a passing team. Wind River could spell "PROBLEMS" for them. At any rate, the top four 2A teams are impressive again, but the west looks more competitive than the east. Good Day.

Posted by: 3a fan on October 20, 2008 11:10AM EST
We will see both Glenrock and Kemmerer have to make it to the championship game first, Kemmerer has a big test this weekend in Jackson. Jackson is in an almost must win situation to make the playoffs, the game is in Kemmerer, Jackson won the last three I believe, so Kemmerer will want this one. It should be a great game. This will be the first game that Kemmerer, starters play the whole game since week one. We will see what they have in the tank in the 4th quarter.

Posted by: Mike on October 20, 2008 11:17AM EST
Murraykins.....you are picking Lovell to be in the championship over Glenrock? You can't be serious. Oh well....I guess stranger things have happened.

Posted by: 4a playoffs...wow on October 20, 2008 11:43AM EST
I don't see jackson needing to win to get in. It would probably vault them into 7th above torrington though.

I see 7/8/9 not changing at all this weekend.

Kemmerer beats Jackson
Torrington beats Newcastle
Buffalo beats Rawlins
Douglas beats Wheatland

status quo for the playoffs. Really all that will change is if worland loses, lander loses and powell beats cody. Don't see any of those happening.

Patrick- will we see a what if predictions for the 4a playoffs anytime soon?

Posted by: Hitman on October 20, 2008 12:59PM EST
Mike i was thinking lovell too but that was before they got kicked by powell friday...

Posted by: murrykins on October 20, 2008 3:18PM EST
Powell beating Lovell was not unexpected, I didn't think it would be that bad but there is much more rivalry there than you might think but,,,Lovell can pull the upset on any team in their class if the passing game starts clicking, so yeah, I think I'm serious.
I do think the game I want to see this weekend is Greybull/ Riverside. It's been thirty years since this game has meant as much to either side and it should be a dandy. Greybulls drive in the last four minutes against TR was a beauty, just exactly the way you draw it up but the kids from Riverside are going in with a BIG chip on their shoulders.
And NO, Guernsey is not going to the big game this year, there's no one in the first round that they can beat, second round is Coke at SE, and Hulette at Burlington. good luck the them in 6 man, (which ,by the way, is a fantastic addition to Wyoming football}
Kemmerrer, Wind River and Big Horn all played Riverside and all won handily, but in my opinion The Cougars looked the best, so ya never know.

Posted by: sport fan on October 20, 2008 3:30PM EST
Kemmerer would love to see Lovell beat Glenrock in the semis, that would then mean that they would not have to travel to Glenrock. The odds of that happening are small. Kemmerer will first have to likely play Mountain View. Though their record doesn't show it it they are a tough team, remember they gave Kemmerer their toughest game all season instate to date.

Posted by: 2A on October 20, 2008 5:40PM EST
Mark Metzger, i do agree with you that the west is tougher than the east, and i did play in the games last year between riverside and big horn, and either of those games could have gone either way and from the sounds of it the first game against wind river was the same way, and i wouldn't be surprised at all if it turned out to be big horn and wind river in the championships in big horn

Posted by: Patrick Schmiedt on October 20, 2008 7:55PM EST
wrestlingfan,

To be honest, I'm not sure. I think there might have been other 4x conference cross country champs, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

As far as football predictions, I make enough of those. I'll wait until the brackets are completely set to try my hand at choosing championship matchups....

patrick,

What has happened to Thermopolis. When I was in the state they were a power. A friend of mine said they have won one game in three years. Is this true? Have they moved up a class, since their state title days? Any info would be great. Thanks.

Posted by: bobcat on October 20, 2008 10:24PM EST
For Thermop to say they are up a class as an excuse is rediculous. They are in with the same teams except Buffalo (thank goodness) and Tongue River.
Maybe time for a coaching change.
The 4A playoffs may be the funnest to watch as Powell, Worland, and Lander could play some spoiler roles.
Best of luck to all the teams.

MSbenchpress247
Thermopolis was really tough for a good run, but in these small towns there are times when you are up and times that you are down, school size is not a factor in football according to the Whsaa numbers. The largest school is Newcastle (264) and the smallest is (162) Moorcroft. Thermopolis is currently at 189 which is right in the middle as far as I'm concerned many schools are real close Mtn. View (192), Lovell(204), Lyman (208) and Kemmerer(210). It is just a down period Thermopolis Sports.

Posted by: tigerfan on October 21, 2008 12:41AM EST
well if i had to prodict the championship game for 2a i would say lusk and big horn but i wont say anything until after the Lusk and Burns game on friday. but we shouldnt count out the possiblity of lusk and big horn or lusk and burn both could happen.

Posted by: sports fan on October 21, 2008 11:00AM EST
It is interesting to hear everyone talk about Big Horn and Wind River, both great picks but no one has mentioned Burns. This team is for real. They have a impressive offensive line who are very athletic and physical, and for this reason Burns has ran all over everyone they have played. Petsch is a great runningback made into a outstanding runningback by a great "O" line. It is hard to beat them when you never have the ball.

Posted by: bobcatfan on October 21, 2008 11:04AM EST
To address the question about what has happened to Thermopolis football.......

the answer is simply that the players don't put in any work in the offseason to get bigger, faster, stronger. The players in Thermopolis think that they can start getting ready for football on August 1st. The players can't seem to get it through their heads that it is the work that you put in during the other nine months of the year that makes you a better football player...August, September, October, and November are the times that your hard work pays off. Thermopolis players think August 1 is the time that you start to get to work to get ready for football. Six of the seven teams that Thermopolis has played this year just look more physical, and look like football players. The players need to make a commitment to dedicate themselves to the weight room and get better starting November 1 or it will be more of the same. Football is a diferent animal from the other sports....it is a physical game, and the size of the players matters. The players in Thermopolis can't seem to figure that out.

Basketball will be a different story. Thermopolis has everyone back from a team that went to state last year...they are a little taller, and gained a ton of experience from last year. They should be a solid team in the 2A.

Posted by: sports fan on October 21, 2008 11:16AM EST
Don't forget Thermopolois took second in wrestling last year and should be very strong again this year, no they can not beat Cokeville but will be in the hunt for another trophy at state

Posted by: rangerfan on October 21, 2008 12:09PM EST
we just played thermop and I thought they did ok. Don't know about their weight room situation but I can tell you that kemmerer has done better in the weight room over the last few years and it seems to be paying off. I think if you did do a survey of teams in the state the consistently successful ones will generally have more time in the weight room than the others. It takes a lot of work by a head coach to get that installed into a program. Coach Rogers has done a great job of it here and it is paying off. Even after the lovell loss to powell I still think they are a team that can surprise the rest of 3A. And I know the rangers are going to have their hands completely full with a mt. view team that has won 3 in a row and is a conference rival. There will be no overlooking the buffs. It will be interesting to see how things shake out. Good luck to everyone in the postseason and GO RANGERS!!

Posted by: Powderpro on October 21, 2008 1:06PM EST
Sports fan. I would never count out Burns and yes, the Petsch boy is extremely talented and I am sure the rest of the team. It will be fun to see how it all turns out. I am interested in knowing who is looking at Duell for college. I wish him and their team good luck.

Posted by: Tigerstown on October 21, 2008 1:36PM EST
Patrick - what if Lander does not beat Riverton? Can the Tigers still make the playoffs?

Posted by: Kevin Williams on October 21, 2008 1:47PM EST
I for one am glad that next year we will be away from the Power Rating type of seeding. Those schools who play teams from a lower class get little or no benefit from a win, even though they had no say in the scheduling. Wyoming is too small of a state to have to use that type of ranking to get into the playoffs. It makes more sense for larger states that have to use it for seeding because of the number of schools with similar records. I don't really know why the WHSAA went to the power rankings in the first place. As far as I'm concerned, good riddance!

Posted by: Roy on October 21, 2008 3:45PM EST
Even worse Kevin, smaller schools that must play bigger schools (even the bad ones) often get beat and are penalized due to a loss. While other teams in their conference play smaller schools and get more power points from wins. Case in point is Rawlins right now might make the 4A playoffs yet their only two wins came against 3A schools. Technically they could get in without beating a single 4A team. Yet schools like Wheatland and Torrington, who have both beaten Rawlins, could be left out even though they would have identical records. The genius(es) who thought power points were a good idea were clearly wrong. I'm with you on the good riddance sentiment.

Posted by: Ktown on October 21, 2008 4:00PM EST
First of all, Kemmerer v. Jackson isn't a must win for Kemmerer to get into the playoffs, they are 7 and 0...however Kemmerer and Jackson have a rivalry, and Jackson has ended up on the winning side in 07, 06, and 04....Kemmerer won 14-7 in Jackson in 05...I don't see Glenrock winning the title big time over Kemmerer because the game would be in Glenrock, the 05 and 07 games there wasn't hometown officiating. Not trying to disrespect Glenrock, but where the game is won't matter it will be a tough and close game, even if they play it in Billings

Posted by: sports fan on October 21, 2008 9:52PM EST
The one team who has the biggest gripe is Newcastle, although if you only have one win how much can you complain. Newcastle last year blasted Moorcroft and Moorcroft went to the playoffs even though they had the same record as the team who kicked the snot out of them, now flash forward to this year Newcastle destroyed Thermoplolis and they will be left out of the playoffs as Thermopolis is in with the same identical 1 and 7 record

Posted by: sports fan on October 21, 2008 9:57PM EST
What was even worse then the power ranking is when WHSAA with their great ideas three years ago seeded the playoffs by mileage and not on the field success. Yes the one and two would play the seven and eight but it was mileage that decided who was playing who and worst yet 3 through 6 played each other on mileage with the higher seeds hosting wow that was a joke.

Posted by: bobcat on October 22, 2008 8:58AM EST
Thermopolis athletes don't utilize the weight room or go to camps, because they are not pushed to do so by the head coach. You cannot have seasonal coaches and expect to win.
You had better watch out for Burns. #71 may be one of the better offensive lineman in the state.
Big Horn and Lusk have tradition on their side. Burns has built this team (with help of some Cheyenne players?) Wind River coach was given this team as coach Jordan could have ridden this one out.
From what I hear, Wind River needs to remember "What goes around, comes around". Know when to pull the dogs....

Posted by: BroncFan on October 22, 2008 10:35AM EST
Bobcat,
All of the Burns kids have gone to school here for at least two years. We don't have any transfers from Cheyenne in the last two years that are starting. We only graduated one starter last year off of a team that was pretty good but underacheived. The kids this year don't want that same lable and are working hard every week to make sure that doesn't happen.

Posted by: Wyo 2A on October 22, 2008 10:48AM EST
Bobcat,
In fact it is the exact opposite, Burns has lost kids over the years to Cheyenne schools. Kids have left Burns because it is so close to Cheyenne because they want to go to a bigger school. To say that they have had help from Cheyenne is completely untrue.

Posted by: FootballFan on October 22, 2008 11:37AM EST
It doesnt matter if kids have come from Cheyenne or went to Cheyenne. Just because a kid comes from a larger city doesnt mean they are more talented. Burns has made a huge leap from four years ago and are a good team. I just want to know how the next game goes between Lusk and Burns this friday. Both teams undefeated and it will determine conference champs. Both teams are very good but Burns must remember last year when Lusk shut them out when they were supposed to stomp them. It will be a good game no matter what. Good Luck Tigers.

Posted by: BroncFan on October 22, 2008 12:14PM EST
I don't know that Burns was suppose to stomp Lusk last year. We expected a good game and expected to win. It didn't happen for a couple of reasons. We are looking forward to this year's game as well. I agree it will be a good game and I think everybody involved with it is excited.

Posted by: 2A Fan on October 22, 2008 12:59PM EST
Burns vs. Lusk should be a good football game. It could of been a great game if Lusk's running back could be at 100%. If he was health it would be interesting to see how many rushing yards the two team could combine for. Just a thought, still can't wait to see it friday.

Posted by: JXN FAN on October 22, 2008 1:34PM EST
Ktown u are right on. The last 4 kemmerer/jackson battles have been great games. And a rivalry Last years 7-0 v 7-0 was a great game. Kemmerer is on a roll and looking to finish regular season 8-0, jackson is fighting for their playoff lives, and the chance to defend the title they win last year. Our boys have lost 5 games by 25 total points, and I see Kemmerer in a close (6-10 pt) game, and jackson getting the 8th seed in the west. No matter what, if jackson gets in we will play one of the teams they beat on the way to the title. No matter where they go the coaching staff will have the broncs ready to battle and try to advance! The staff in kemmerer must be doing a great job with the boys there, looking for 3/4 state championships!

Posted by: sports fan on October 22, 2008 4:14PM EST
Just looking at common opponets, it sure looks like Burns is a better team but that is why we play on Friday to actually see who is the best team and anything can happen on any Friday night. I think for those who have not seen Burns they will be very surprised at how athletic and physical their "o" is. And we all know how hard it is to score when your offense is never on the field. Burns 28 Lusk 14, Petsch 150 yards rushing.

Posted by: Kevin Williams on October 22, 2008 4:42PM EST
Another bonus for 2009 is the championship games being held in one location...it should settle arguments about the only reason a team won a championship is because of home field advantage. And, without going to Billings to see a Glenrock v. Kemmerer championship game showdown. Now a casual fan won't have to decide where they are going on championship weekend...they just go to Laramie, even if they are coming from Cody or Jackson. If it works well, look for Laramie and the University to make a big push toward procuring other culminating events as well.

Posted by: Mike on October 23, 2008 9:58AM EST
Wow seems like they have some issues to work through in Thermopolis. Thanks for the information. It just surprised me to learn they had only won a single game in three seasons. That would have been unheard of a few seasons ago. They used to dominate football. Interesting that they are projected to be good in basketball, but that football is so dismal. Do their basketball players lift weights even though hoops is less about power than specialized abilities I suppose. Still most successful hoops teams see the inside of a weight room. Thanks for the information, be interesting to see how and if they can turn this down trend around.

Posted by: Cory on October 23, 2008 11:23AM EST
I can't imagine being anywhere other than Burns tomorrow night- that game should be a dandy. Don't know how healthy Tigers senior RB (Trautman) is, but that could be a factor.
I haven't seen Burns play yet but the Tiger O line is very athletic too. they're not very big but Lusk never has many big linemen--Hey sportsfan I don't think Petsch can get 150 yds on the Lusk defense(maybe the team, but not 1 guy).
the team that hits the hardest for 4 quarters will win and have homefield throughout the playoffs.

Posted by: sports fan on October 23, 2008 12:27PM EST
Like I said in earlier posts Petsch is a great runningback who is made in to an outstanding runningback by an "o" line who is athletic and physical. Petsch will have 150yds and the team will have over 200 yds

Posted by: BroncFan on October 23, 2008 12:37PM EST
Sports fan,
Are you a Burns fan or from a school we have played already? I think this game could be a great one and can't wait until 7:30 tomorrow night!

Posted by: tigerfan on October 23, 2008 1:02PM EST
sports fan, broncfan and cory you guy are right, this game is going to be the best game all season. as for Petsch geting a 150 kinda hard to believe the tiger defense is good has be for the last two year where the team have shut down good running backs. the tiger team does go hard for all 4 quarters there is no doubt about that and friday will be no different. Petsch better be prepared for getting hit alot. the game will be great and the only thing i wish is i could be there for it. good luck to both teams.

I've just been sitting here reading through these blog entries to pass some time before we play for a share of the region title in our game tonight, and it struck me why I love Wyoming high school football so much. People in Wyoming care about the kids and their success. I've been tore up on here from time to time, probably rightfully so, and told to stay in Utah, (I know I've done my share of ripping myself) but I love to get on here and read the comments by the Wyoming fans and coaches because for the most part you can really see how much they care about kids. You don't see that everywhere. It's a great time of year in Wyoming with the playoffs just around the corner. It makes you a little homesick when your away....or maybe that sick feeling is just the gut turning because we are 3 touchdown underdogs to Rich tonight. Good luck to all the teams back in Wyoming.

just came from the Burns/Lusk game. One of the best hitting High School games I have ever seen. good job to both teams and goodluck in the playoffs.

I tried to warn tigerfan that Burns is for real. I predicted 28 to 14 and shoot I even under estimated Burns myself as they scored 34. I had Lusk pegged at 14 and was right on but Petsch was only held to 120 plus yards couldn't he give me one more long run to make 150 yds. Its amazing what a team can do when they have a athletic and physical "O" line.
