that 2A Boys east regional is gonna be something else to watch. Lusk and Sundance are playing great hoops and Tongue River is dangerous. Burns and Wright have also been playing good ball at the right time.
in the west it looks like a Fremont County final as the Chiefs and unbeaten Cougars could meet again.

It was quite a treat watching Rob Johnson & Cody Emrick play tonight. But, I can tell you the trip home was a bear.

Posted by: Eaglesfan on February 18, 2008 5:26PM EST
Emrick had 36 and Johnson 34, should see both players playing for Wyoming this summer in the All-Star games. It was indeed a great 2A match-up. Was disappointed that TR didn't give Johnson the curtain call for his last game at TR. Probably is the all-time leading scorer, rebounder and shot blocker in school history.

Eaglesfan - who are some of your other favorites to be on the allstar teams this summer?

Posted by: Jake on February 19, 2008 11:54AM EST
Does anyone know if any big schools are looking at Rob Johnson. Wyoming is crazy if they don't at least take a look. He's got nice size, 6'6", great hands and can jump, and shoots the ball really well. I've seen him a few times and he handles the ball better than any point guard I've seen. I know he was a great quarterback also but haven't heard if he wants to play Football or basketball. Very athletic kid. Haven't seen Emerick play but I've heard he is a very good player as well. Good luck to all at regionals.

anything can happen in the 1A east with these teams in there. Southeast, Kaycee, Saratoga all in the same bracket means the west better watch out when state time comes.

Posted by: Cory on February 19, 2008 2:08PM EST
Wyo would be foolish to not give Rob Johnson a look for basketball. Did anyone else watch former East stud James Johnson against Duke Sunday night? Think of UW hoops if him and Jaycee Carroll would have been recruited by McLain and stayed home for college.

Posted by: gtown on February 19, 2008 4:07PM EST
James Johnson was amazing on Sunday night. 24 and 15. Dang. I think even if UW would of tried harder for Johnson he still wouldnt of gone there.

Posted by: Moose on February 19, 2008 6:44PM EST
I have heard that Black Hills is looking at Rob Johnson. His sister is there, too.
As we all know UW doesn't spend much time or money on Wyoming kids. It is really too bad. We have so much talent in this state. But, that is an old subject.

Posted by: gtown on February 19, 2008 7:24PM EST
They will spend a little time on the big names in 4a like Waddell, Platt, Dietz but it is to bad the smaller schools dont get more attention because there are some kids that can play.

SE #1----are u serious???? To think that you would even put yourself in the top three with Toga and Kaycee---we've seen your team play and it doesn't look like that Go. County Bus will be making the trip to Casper.

Posted by: Eaglesfan on February 19, 2008 11:05PM EST
C_J I really couldn't predict the 12 players today. I don't see much big school basketball until March. I just hope that they give the small school kids a chance this year. Looks like most of the big school talent are underclassmen. I would like to see Johnson play at SC, develop his game and strength then after two years make a run at D-I. Emirck is already headed to Sioux Falls I believe.

Posted by: Cory on February 19, 2008 11:14PM EST
the SE boys better eat their wheaties and a couple of amp drinks if they wanna play with Kaycee or Saratoga. those two schools wold have good seasons in 2A conferences. the 1A west is gonna be a dogfight too. i haven't seen any of those teams, but how do you pick a favorite?

Posted by: SE #1 on February 19, 2008 11:15PM EST
Anything can happen when it comes to regional time. everyones record is 0-0, and it doesn't mean much what you did in the regular season. I have this to say to "Not a SE fan": If you think that a team has no chance of going to state, then you're crazy, and that's all there is to it.

Posted by: c_j on February 19, 2008 11:33PM EST
SE #1 - Great point. I am thinking back to last years regionals and remembering how many #2 seeds got beat and didn't make it to state. It doesn't matter how many games you won during the regular season, you have to show up and play your best!

Posted by: Bulldog Fan on February 20, 2008 12:17AM EST
Eaglesfan.... Ray Moore signed with Sioux Falls for Football. Emrick has been approached by a couple schools for football and so far a couple schools for basketball. Don't forget he is also a 2 time state champion in the 800 & the mile. Could be some interest there, too. To my knowledge he is not headed to Sioux Falls.

Posted by: kene on February 20, 2008 2:40PM EST
who could you pick as the favorite in the west 1A? how about the team that went to Kaycee and won by twenty. Burlington is salty this year boys, everyone of them has been to state and fought the wars, the second five would start for most teams i've seen, so if you look past them your making the biggest mistake of the year. I might go out on a limb here and pick both boys and girls for the title this year.

Posted by: Not a SE fan on February 20, 2008 6:09PM EST
SE # 1---Read my reply again. I said that SE wont be going to state. And to Cory---well said. SE wont have a chance against Toga or Kaycee. Upton Bobcats will beat them in the first round and that's all there is to it!!!

Posted by: Bulldog Fan on February 24, 2008 1:41AM EST
I kept thinking the standings were a little wrong. Guess maybe we can go ahead of Lusk now?
Way to go Bulldogs!!!!

Posted by: Sandman on February 25, 2008 5:21PM EST
It will be a west team that wins this year in 2A east in 1A. Like I said earlier in the season. The road to the championship goes through Ethete. I am not saying the chiefs will win it all. I am just saying you are going to have to beat the chiefs to get there. I will say they have enough to get to the championship. TR boys will have their hands full with the chiefs.
