It's to stimulate the economy, right? I'm actually kind of disappointed that the $$$ doesn't come with common sense instructions, such as how to spend it...
Since I could survive without it (don't need it to pay my mortgage), I feel like I should spend it something useful, but what?
Gotta spend it on something American made, not at WalMart. Shouldn't spend it on gas (for the car), since that's not American made. Shouldn't spend it on gas (for the home), because while that's American made, it's a booming industry of a finite resource. Shouldn't save it, it will defeat the purpose of stimulation. So, should I just go eat out with $600? Or would that just support the illegal immigrants and the already rich restaurant owners?

Put it towards my 2007 Tax Bill !

Posted by: Bob on February 20, 2008 10:21AM EST
You can't put it towards your '07 tax bill as it will arrive to late. I do plan to use it to pay a portion of my '08 tax bill though. Doesn't seem smart to give me money to pay myself back, but whatever.

When are we supposed to get it? I don't even know much about it.

I am going to put my $600 towards a down-payment on a variable rate mortgage... oh wait. But really, I will probably put it in savings for a new car.

I'll pay down my debt. Something our leaders need to learn how to do.

I will use it to take a trip back home to Michigan this summer.

I'm going to donate a chunk of money to the Democratic Party presidential candidate, another chunk to Gary Trauner's campaign, and then use the rest to pay down my debt, which is a very Clintonian thing to do (remember the 1990s?).

I think I will treat myself to a hamburger one meal a week instead of my usual bowl of beans. Crumbs to the peasants!
